Pet Shop Boys – Fundamental
Pet Shop Boys' new album Fundamental drops 22 May, that's like this coming Monday! While I didn't like 'I'm With Stupid' on first listen, it's proven to be a grower, and there are so many other songs that are better than I'm With Stupid.

Ronan Keating - Bring You Home
So Ronan's coming back with a new album. Actually I didn't quite expect this to happen, at least not so soon– I thought after releasing his Greatest Hits collection some time ago, he'd be still counting the cash, performing some one off gigs every now and then (and count some more money), release his own fragrances (...although I wonder if he can make any from this ventures), and that's it.
But no, he's actually back with a new album! That's great news certainly. I don't want to see him drift away just like that. That'd be a waste of a rather decent voice and a pretty face. But the bad news is, his new song is really boring. It's a laid back mid tempo song, not quite a ballad but certainly not upbeat 'I Love It When We Do' remake that you'll irresistibly sing along to. Good news is, at least it's not a cover song (If Tomorrow Never Comes! Argh wasn't that bloody awful!!) It's a duet though. I don't know the girl, she has a sweet voice but I don't think their voices match.
Let's take a look at the video shall we?
Ronan Keating – All Over Again
What's in the video? I'll give you a preview: - Ronan wearing a Leather Jacket - His hands inside his pockets, he's walking down the street - Oh, suddenly he's inside a car - Some couples (pedestrian A and pedestrian B) arguing on the street, to highlight that the world is rather lovely because we argue a lot. Don't question the logic behind this. - The girl who gives this song a female voice pretends to be a busker and plays some guitar on the streets. Poor girl. You're only a busker. You just can't become Ronan's lover because his wife will kill him if you guys make out on the set. So yea you should settle for a busker in the video. We'll just cut the 'people throwing coins in the hat' bit to make you less like a busker, but afterall you are. - There's rain. People flee. Ronan enjoys the rain. But no he's not in a see-through T shirt. Disappointment to female fans. Director should be fired. - Couple still fighting. They're almost making a baby I tell you. - Oh, what dramatic change! Things played in reverse, but Ronan's singing to the song!!!!! Don't you see!!! The brilliant idea behind this!!!!! Ronan is walking backwards yet he's singing the song! You wonder whether it's some fancy special EFX or it's another display of Ronan's amazing talent – that he can sing when he walks backwards! - And towards the end of it, the couple is indeed starting to make a baby. I told ya already.
Message(s): 1. It is a beautiful world afterall, etc. Especially a world with Ronan in it. 2. Make up sex can be repeated (thus the song title I assume) 3. and Ronan's been around for so many years yet he still look exactly the same as the later Boyzone days.
And I've got proof here. Here's Ronan's first solo project after Boyzone call it quits (or Ronan called it quits). Back then he had this hit called Life Is A Rollercoaster and it wasn't so much a cliché to give his own autobiography the same title.

I think he still looks pretty much the same. However it was a time when: 1. He had better songs 2. He wasn't quite so boring 3. He didn't need a duet or cover song to be his first singles.
Those were better times, at least for his career. I'm sure his kids are so adorable now though.
His new album Bring You Home hits stores 5th June. And with a cover artwork like that – you just wouldn't think twice to give this handsome father of two some much needed money to spend on his kids right?

And don't be surprised if you find that 'Life Is A Rollercoaster (Album Version)' is actually a 'b-side' to CD2. It's not even a '2006 mix'... it's just an 'album version'. It's so easy to make money nowadays for people like Ronan Keating.

I like the way they're quite fearless but they admit to be vulnerable and weak and human afterall. They don't pretend to be something they're not, yet they speak their minds.

Probably over publicized by myself already, but this album drops 12 June and is a must have.
Leann Rimes – Whatever We Wanna
I've always liked Leann Rimes. I especially like her Twisted Angel album, with great songs like Life Goes On and Suddenly. Back then her songs were quite pop. But then she went all country. I don't even know the songs. Of course after that she had a greatest hits. Which sold pretty well I guess.
But just like Ronan she's back with a new album after a greatest hits. Greatest hits are evil – you always fear that would be the last from that artist. But it's great Leann Rimes is releasing something new. What direction is she going for this time? Country? No. Rock chick? No. The answer is here:
Leann Rimes – And It Feels Like
She's trying to be the next Celine Dion. The song itself definitely sounds like a song Celine would pick for herself. From the intro to the verse to the chorus… even the backing vocals sound exactly like a Celine song. Perhaps Celine's too busy cuz of her never-ending Vegas show so it's now become Leann's hope for a hit. The video also looks exactly like something Celine would make. (Rich woman in a huge mansion – you can't get more Celine than this! I can do a better job by adding some thunders and rains though...).
I have no doubt this could be big in 1996. But something like this... will this sell in the year 2006? We'll wait and see.
Her album Whatever We Wanna (is it mean to be cool name because its abbreviation is WWW? I don't get it.) is released 5th June. Leann never produces nice artworks. All her album cover sucks, for reasons I can't understand. Is it that hard to choose a nice photo and pick a decent font?
Duncan James – Future Past
Duncan James has the worst voice of Blue, but probably the only decent ex-Blue since he's not releasing a ballad for his solo debut. Sooner Or Later, his first single, as I said is a song Ronan could only wish to have for his new CD. But while a larger version of the CD cover artwork is not available, let's take a look at his video. It's the funniest thing I've seen today, because this is obviously the most homoerotic thing an ex-boy band member do to attract fans, and I was laughing so hard until my mom came in and I had to stop it since I wasn't sure whether Duncan would show something more in his quest to score a no.1.
To give you a brief preview: Watch him dress wake up in his underwear, and fumbling with a teapot ("What is this?" Oh maybe it's a teapot.") He'd dress himself up, of course, 'sooner or later'. Watch him walk his dog on a beach. It was shot in Miami I suppose. Since there's this lyric 'Sooner or later you'll fall in love again', there's no making out with a girl in the video.
So that's it for the most homoerotic video made in quite a while. The last ones were probably something made by Take That.
